Apply to be a Volunteer
the Service Board would not exist without support from our community. It is important to us that as we ask our youth to commit to service and building community that adults are modeling this commitment.
If you don’t have enough time to be a mentor but still want to be involved, the Service Board sill needs you! We are looking for able and willing volunteers to help with Wednesday dinners and snowboard instruction. Even a stray appearance at a service project makes a difference.
Some roles have deadlines, but you can sign up for others at any time. Check out some of the options below:
Meal team: A critical volunteer role, tSB’s success is reliant on the depth of the relationship between mentors and youth and we bond best when sharing a nice homemade meal on a program day. For one, two or as many meals as you are willing to coordinate, this volunteer role prepares the food for program (approximately 50-60 people). Essentially, we’ll provide the budget, you make the food! Runs December – June.
Service project partner: Join us as we do good in the community, service projects (even just one) are an awesome way to interact with youth.
Snowboard instructor: Are you (at least) an intermediate rider who is comfortable teaching? Do you have patience to work with youth? We provide mandatory on and off-mountain training in December each year for new instructors. Application deadline Dec. 1st.
Skateboard instructor: Are you an experienced skateboarder with an interest in teaching? Are you available in the summer time? Do you like working with youth? Let’s chat about our Summer Program and ways to get involved with teaching our Youth how to Skateboard all over Seattle. Application deadline tbd
Photographer: A picture is worth a thousand words. We seek photographers for our programs year-round for our blog, media and thank you cards. Photographers and videographers can help us share our story with our stakeholders. We would love to see and become a part of your portfolio!
Administrative: Do you have a passion for Excel spreadsheets or special skills with databases? Are you a magician with glitter and glue? We always have a need for people to support us in the office. If you know your way around Microsoft Office, Salesforce or like getting dirty while hand-making thank-you cards, you could be an administrative volunteer.
Events: We have a few big events each year and need support with registration, serving food, set-up/clean-up and running auctions. If you have a passion for events, this is a job for you (and a great way to be introduced to our community).
Special projects: Do you have a really specific set of skills that you want to bring to a small organization? We are always in need of graphic designers, web developers or really smart, skilled people. Have an idea of what you want to do for tSB that isn’t on this list? Let’s talk!
Are you ready to get involved?
