The Dream Team

Ashley Miller, Executive Director

Though Ashley’s been in Seattle all of her life, she didn’t find home until she found tSB. She started here in 2006 as the Administrative Assistant and has since served as the in-house chef and Director of Development, and is honored to be the Executive Director of this community. Ashley is a graduate of Leadership Tomorrow, and currently volunteers as a Coach in the program. She also serves as a member of the Youth Development Executives of King County Advisory Board.  In her free time, Ashley enjoys  falling down mountains, playing basketball with her teammates and rocking the karaoke mic any time she gets the chance.

Khalil Equiano, Program Coordinator

Once South Seattle raised a boy. Brooklyn made that boy a man. Oakland taught that man how to love. And so it came to pass that loving man returned to the place that raised him to show it what he learned. TSB gave him the opportunity to do that. Besides writing about himself in third person Khalil also enjoys nature, laughing, storytelling and being the big homie for those that need one.

Anna Nguyen, Outreach Coordinator & VISTA Member

Anna was born in the Philippines, raised in southend Seattle. Prophet in ’10, Media Intern in ’11, and now an Outreach Coordinator & VISTA member in ’11-’12. After having her life changed dramatically for the better as a Prophet in tSB, this year will be dedicated to giving back to the community that had gave so much to her. Her dream is to have a cute n’ furry animal pet farm, but until then she’ll be advocating for mentorship and youth empowerment all over Seattle.

Mike Hodapp, MSW Practicum Instructor

Mike was born and raised in Dayton, OH, along with his grandpappy and his grandpappy’s grandpappy. Before tSB, the nearest he’d come to the slopes was jumping on intertubes hauled behind pickup trucks across bumpy fields. Mike writes music, sings, and plays banjo and guitar, as well as performing dance in Seattle. From Southern Appalachia to the Bay Area, and the Midwest to the Northwest, Mike has spent the past decade creatively working with young folks to rebuild community and build collective knowledge. He got his MSW at UW.

Sarah Glass, MSW Practicum Intern

Clipboard01 150x150 The Dream Team After spending her last year of college interning with tSB, Sarah returns this year as an intern for her MSW program at the UW. Sarah grew up in Eastern Washington, but has called Seattle home since 2005. When she’s not planning adventures, singing karaoke, or kicking it with her friends, she can be found coaching women’s rugby at the UW and at her other jobs working with teen boys in CD recovery and young mothers in transitional housing. It’s probably also important to mention that she is pretty much obsessed with South America – specifically the amazing country of Chile, where she lived and worked for a bit during her undergrad studies. Special talents include parallel parking like a champ, baking, and schooling folks at horse and/or bump on the daily.

Sarah Nason, tSBookkeeper

sarah board The Dream Team Sarah was born and raised in Michigan, where she learned to shred on the teeniest of mountains. Visions of bigger mountains and even bigger powder lured her to the Pacific Northwest. Sarah joined tSB as a snowboard instructor in 2008 and served as a mentor in 2010. Even though she now spends most of her time in the office as tSB’s bookkeeper, she still loves volunteering on the mountain. She especially loves telling tSBers that she’s been snowboarding for longer than most of them have been alive. Her favorite color is orange and a steaming bowl of Pho is the fastest way to her heart.

Franklin Joyce, site builder extraordinaire
